My Favorite Things Linky Party

Little Miss Kindergarten is hosting a Linky Party about all of our favorite things.  Who can resist talking about what we love the most?

1.  Blogging!  I'm obviously an addict.

2.  My Mac.......I spend wayyyyyyy too much time with this thing.  My husband always laughs at me, because if we go on a trip, I make sure the Mac goes with me.  I always tell him that it's just in case the house got broken into I wouldn't want them to take my laptop.

3.  Dr. Pepper......My number one choice of drink.

4.  Jodi Piccoult Books........She is by far my favorite author of all time.  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her books.  If you haven't read her stuff, you should.  If you need a recommendation of which book to start first, I'll be happy to give you some!

5.  My Iphone......It's with me at all times.

6.  Blue pens.......and not just any blue pen, specifically G2 Pilot blue pens.  I spent 10 years as a Marine where you are required to ONLY write in black ink.  So after I got out, I rebelled and now only write in blue ink.

7.  Chocolate......I LOVE chocolate, especially  Reese's cups, KitKat, and Rolos.  I should not be allowed around it.

8.  Reality TV.....I watch way too much of it.  American Idol, Project Runway, America's Next Top Model, The Bachelor, Teen Mom, 16 and Pregnant, even The Real World.  I'm pretty sure I'm technically too old for this but I love it anyway.

9.  True Blood.....My favorite TV show!!!!  It comes back on June 26th (not that I'm counting down or anything).

10.  The beach.......I'm so fortunate to live near the beach.  I'm so glad my summer has officially started, so I can spend a lot of time there.

Now why don't you hop on over to Little Miss Kindergarten and tell us your favorite things.

  2. I have been wanting to read some Jodi Piccoult books. I've seen My Sister's Keeper and The Tenth Circle. Any suggestions on your favorite books of hers?

  3. Amanda - I am a HUGE Jodi Piccoult fan. I LOVE her books, but I will say that they do sometimes have sensitive topics that can be difficult for the reader depending on their life experiences.

Sing You Home is her latest book that just came out this year and is now my all-time favorite. It was SOOOO good. I literally cried twice during the book, because it seems like you're experiencing it. It does have some sensitive topics like gay rights, death, and cancer. I still highly recommend it.

My Sister's Keepr is my 2nd favorite book, and the first one of hers that I read. The movie doesn't follow the book exactly, and I thought the book was better than the movie.

Nineteen Minutes is really good. It's about a high school shooting and really makes you think about the perspective of others (such as the shooter's mom).

Change of Heart is probably my 4th favorite book. It has a surprising ending.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you read any of her books. I Love talking about it!

  4. Mrs. Tabb - I'm sooooo looking forward to True Blood. Have you been watching the previews that they're showing? OMgoodness, it's gonna be so good! Have you read the books? I have the 10th book downloaded but haven't started it yet.

  6. Thanks for letting me know. I "think" I fixed them now. I can't bring myself to drink Diet even though I probably should as much as I drink of the regular stuff!!! And Jersey Shore is probably one of the only reality shows I don't watch. Are you hooked on the Real World/Road Rules Challenges? I only watch Real World just so I know who will be on the challenges! I can't wait for the new one to start.

  7. No...Jerseylicious! You have to give that one a try!

Oh and I totally love The Next Food Network Star! If I had some culinary training I would so get on there and battle it out! But for now maybe I stick with Cupcake Wars!

  8. We seem to have a lot in common - mainly that I am a special ed teacher too...I like most of what is on your list (bring on the blogging and the chocolate) but I can only bring myself to read Jodi Piccoult about once every 2-3 years.

I am subscribing and look forward to connecting with you in the blogosphere.
