Happy Friday everyone! I've been on Spring Break, so this last week has been sooooo nice! This was exactly what I needed to get out of a funk I've been in lately. I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for her weekly Five for Friday.
Since I'm on Spring Break, I'm going to share with you guys how I've spent the last week. We've been in Hawaii for 3 months, but I honestly feel like I haven't been able to enjoy it until this week. As soon as we arrived, we were slammed with looking for a house, job hunting, and getting settled in. Then I started work right away, and it's been very exhausting. I needed this break for a lot of reasons!
Here's some of my past week.
1. First thing to do was get stocked up with some good reading material. I've read 2 books (Daddy Love and Collateral), and I'm almost done with Something Wicked). Daddy Love was disturbing. It wasn't necessarily bad but too disturbing (kidnapping, child abuse, etc.). I don't recommend it. Collateral was really good if you like Ellen Hopkins style of writing (poems). It's about a girl's relationship with a Marine as he goes through deployments. I could definitely relate to parts of the book and felt like she did a great job. I'm almost done with Something Wicked, so I'll hold judgement till I get done.
2. This is how I've been spending my days!
3. Everyone wears collared shirts to the beach, right?
4. This might be my MOST favorite picture of me and the triplets ever, even if Brody's not smiling.
5. I got to hang out with some other awesome Hawaiian bloggers! This is Nicole from Teaching With Style and Corinna from Surfin' Through Second. Such a great time visiting, eating pupus, and having drinks!
I have a whole other week of Spring Break left and lots of stuff planned for the next week. Make sure you check back next week to see some more pics as we play tourist here in Hawaii.
I can't wait to meet all three of you! Just 3 more months!!! Hopefully my "fist bump" technique will get me in the door:) HAHA!

Great pics! What beach is that? We may have to meet you there sometime! I have loved sleeping in everyday. You are so lucky to have all of next week too:) It was really wonderful meeting you, so happy we were finally able to!

Surfin' Through Second
This is the beach in Kailua less than a mile from our house. People bring their surf boards there and surf all the time. Maybe we should do a North Shore beach day and a Kailua beach day? That would be fun! The kids could boogie board together.

LOVE your hair girl! I may save a picture and take it to my stylist :)

My Second Sense
Thanks so much! I do like but don't like that I have to dry and style it every day. That's the only downside to short hair. Sometimes I wish I could just throw it in a ponytail and go.

I am so jealous that you were able to go to the beach and enjoy some reading! It is snowy and cold here in MI. :(

I Love My Classroom
We have pictures of my father, climbing the Sleeping Bear sand dunes, and then standing on the shore of Lake Michigan wearing a button-down dress shirt :) Embrace the collared shirt...maybe he'll grow up to be a banker like my wonderful dad.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet story! Thank you for sharing!

Awe, I did not know you had triplets! I used to babysit for triplet boys...it was a ton of work. Almost as hard as managing a class of 25! That is so cool that you ladies all live in Hawaii and so nice that you all met up.
ReplyDeleteWow! Wow! Wow! That beach is beautiful. So jealous... :)

We are looking forward to some beach time this week, too. It is shark season in Florida though.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you've had a great time!
Enjoy your weekend!

Wow! Very jealous! I tried talking my fiance into moving to Hawaii, but he said it's too far...however, we might compromise on Florida next year! ;) Fingers and toes crossed haha
